Warren Easton High School Renovation

ID

235265

DESCRIPTION
Henry Lowentritt of Metairie, La., and member of the Rotary Club of New Orleans, led his club's effort to renovate and reopen historic Warren Easton High School after it was nearly destroyed by the flooding that followed Hurricane Katrina. The reopening of the 100-year-old, predominately African-American school was an early and significant sign that the city was on its way back after its devastating losses.
